Cook soups, beans, stews and tough cuts of meat in a fraction of the usual time with this 7-liter (about 7.4-quart) stainless steel pressure cooker. A locking lid keeps the pot closed while it is pressurized, and layered safety devices manage the pressure for you.
Built-in safety
- Anti-opening device: keeps the lid locked while the pot is pressurized.
- Pressure limiting valve: releases steam at normal working pressure.
- Safety valve: opens if pressure gets too high or the vent is blocked.
- Pressure indicator: shows normal vs. abnormal pressure at a glance.
- Gasket safety release: lets steam escape if pressure is excessive.
Works on: gas, electric and induction stoves up to 2 kW. The flat base should sit fully on the burner.
How to release pressure: Use natural release (turn off the heat and wait for the pressure indicator to drop) or quick release (slowly run cold water over the outside of the pot, keeping water away from the pressure valve, until the safety valve drops). Never open the lid until the safety valve has dropped.
Frequently asked questions
Can I cook rice or beans?
Yes. Fill the pot to less than 1/4 for foods that expand, such as rice, beans and dried vegetables, and to no more than 2/3 for everything else.
What should I avoid cooking?
Foods that foam or swell heavily, such as applesauce, round-grain rice and oatmeal, because they can block the vent.
How often should I replace the gasket?
Every one to two years depending on use, or right away if it is damaged or deformed. Use genuine replacement parts.
